What is the Special Milk Class Permit Program (SMCPP)?
The SMCPP provides eligible dairy processors access to Canadian manufactured dairy ingredients at prices that allow them to remain competitive in the marketplace.
The CDC administers the program and issues Special Milk Class Permits on behalf of the Canadian dairy industry. Every month, the CDC announces the SMCPP milk component prices for the following month. Canadian dairy processors purchase raw milk components at these prices to manufacture the dairy ingredients that are sold to Special Milk Class Permit Holders.
